Associate Minister to Families with Children and Youth
Northside Drive Baptist Church is looking for a creative and open-minded individual with a passion for ministering to and connecting with children, youth, and their families. Northside Drive is a welcoming and affirming congregation who seeks to live out our core values of being inclusive, inquiring, and involved. The full-time Associate Minister to Families with Children and Youth would help to instill these core values in the youngest members of our congregation by coordinating Christian education, faith development, pastoral care, and community-building activities for children birth- 12th grade and their families.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability and desire to relate to children, youth and families
- Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, team player
- Familiarity with Baptist traditions
- Previous experience with children and/ or youth preferred
- Seminary degree from an ATS accredited institution
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Children and Youth Ministry Team to organize, implement and evaluate a balanced program for both children and youth activities. Maintain and distribute calendars and promote activities through email and social media.
- Sunday Church School: Ensure teachers are present and serve as substitute as needed. Order curriculum; coordinate and assist Church School teachers. Plan and organize summer activities.
- Sunday Worship: Coordinate, schedule and supervise childcare workers and volunteers. Enlist new volunteers as needed and monitor volunteer participation. Facilitate children’s active participation in worship, lead and/ or recruit leaders for Time with the Children (Children’s Sermon) each Sunday and serve as Worship Leader periodically.
- Activities: Work with Children and Youth Ministry Team members to coordinate community-building events (family lunches, outing, recreation and mission efforts). Cast vision for new opportunities for older children and youth such as retreats, summer camps, worship leadership and mission projects.
- Develop and implement new outreach programs designed to attract new families with children and youth to the Church.
- Attend monthly Church Council meetings and all church in conference meetings. Prepare reports for these meetings.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Hours and Compensation:
This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. Salary package includes health insurance, retirement, and vacation.
