A Morning with Touching Taliaferro with Love

Food is an important part of camp, so we start the day with breakfast in the cafeteria and then enjoy a mid-morning healthy fruit snack. Would you have guessed that one of their favorite fruits is kiwi?!!!
Breakfast and lunch are provided in the cafeteria. We are grateful for the dedication of Ms. Josephine (who has been part of all 24 years of TTWL) and Ms Darlene (10+ years). Campers and staff celebrated them as they both retired on June 18.
After breakfast, the morning rotation begins with Bible stories, board games, crafts, and music. Each year, the team selects Bible stories that reflect God’s love and faithfulness. This year, stories included the empty tomb, the encounter on the road to Emmaus, and Jesus' appearance to Peter and the disciples on the shore of Galilee. The almost-ready-for-prime-time actors, Jo Meeks, Scott Hovey, and Doug Ivey (TTWL volunteer since its beginning in 2002), don costumes and with animation, lots of ad-libbing, and interaction with the campers, they make the stories come alive. Activities later in the day reinforce the lessons from the stories, and we are always pleased with how much they remember.
