Advent is Coming!

Advent is our time of preparation for Christmas. We prepare by decorating our church and our homes. We prepare by making plans to see family and friends. We prepare by quieting our hearts before the wonder of the incarnation. “You shall call his name Emmanuel,” the angel said to Joseph. Emmanuel means God is with us. Christmas proclaims that ours is a God who is not distant, not aloof, not separate, but is with us. The season of Advent gives us time to make ourselves ready to receive such good news.

Scott is a native of sunny Southern California.  He is a graduate of the University of Redlands (BA) and Duke Divinity School (MDiv).  Scott has pastored several churches in North Carolina. His passion is preaching about the intersection of Scripture, justice and community.
