Another Busy Month for Missions

Missions Update
November has been filled with activities many of you have participated in to help support our mission partners. The response from everyone to our request to help the Impact Church Pantry by donating diapers, baby wipes and other baby essentials was wonderful. The Impact Church Pantry was thrilled to be able to add the large number of these much-needed items to their shelves.
As we prepare for Christmas giving, our children have set up the Giving Tree in the Narthex and filled it with lovely, colorful "ornaments" they made with gift ideas to take with you. The gifts on the tree will support families served by The Stewart Center and Agape Youth & Family Center.
Sunday morning, Jeremy Lewis, Executive Director of Urban Recipe, a long-time partner of Northside's Missions program, was the guest speaker for the Art and Soul class. He explained the Co-Op model the organization uses to build community among members by promoting food security and dignity through community-driven food cooperatives that prioritize equitable food access, building relationships, and participation in decision-making. He then presented briefly during the church service to express his appreciation for the generosity of our church and our continued commitment to the ministry of Urban Recipe as it has grown. He told of his deep personal connection to and love for Northside Drive and his many friends in the church. Waiting for Jeremy when he left following the service was a car-load of canned goods for him to take with him as well as a check from the mission budget. Once again our members responded with amazing generosity and love.
