Easter 2025

The long journey of Lent comes to an end at the cross on Good Friday. Then the longest wait as we hold our breath. And then Sunday morning brings us the best news. And the alleluias will come in abundance.
Our Easter worship on Sunday morning will be glorious!
Our Choral Introit will return, our passing of the peace will come to us in a new form as we offer Easter blessings to one another. One will say: He is risen! And will hear in response: He is risen indeed! And then we will raise our voices: Alleluia! Alleluia! Hearts to Heaven.
Our service will be full of beautiful music to mirror our soaring spirits. Our voices will announce the good news, and the sermon will proclaim that we, just like Mary, have indeed seen the Lord! And, as is our tradition, our worship will conclude with the Hallelujah Chorus.
Remember that Easter is more than one day- it is a season! Eastertide will last seven Sundays and take us to Pentecost Sunday in June.
Invite friends and family to this great celebration of the resurrection!
I shared this past Sunday that Mary Lou Swann, our longtime director of Children’s Choirs, will ‘retire’ from her responsibilities at the end of May. We are so grateful for Mary Lou’s ministry with us and all the work she has done with our children. We will take some time to recognize her and celebrate her on Sunday, May 18. After the service we will gather for a reception in her honor. Plan to join us for this time. Mary Lou plans to continue to be part of our congregation even after her retirement.
