Hopes and Fears
“The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.”

Our Blue Christmas Service is not for everyone. We have many opportunities to celebrate the joy, the wonder, the beauty of the Advent and Christmas season. Blue Christmas is different. It is quiet, reflective, honest. It is designed for those for whom this
season holds some grief. Perhaps it is the first holiday season without a loved one. Perhaps this time of year holds difficult memories. Perhaps it is just a challenge to find the joy this year. We offer this space each year recognizing that we all encounter the holiday season differently
and yet God meets us uniquely, acknowledging our joys and our sorrows, our hopes and our fears.

All are invited to gather in the Sanctuary on Wednesday, December 17, at 6:00PM for our Blue Christmas Service.

Scott Hovey

Scott is a native of sunny Southern California.  He is a graduate of the University of Redlands (BA) and Duke Divinity School (MDiv).  Scott has pastored several churches in North Carolina. His passion is preaching about the intersection of Scripture, justice and community. 

Scott loves living in Atlanta and taking advantage of all the big city has to offer.  Scott and his wife, Heather, are the parents of Marco, Ryon, Mary-Addison and Eleanor.
