Sarah McCammon

The Christian church can be its own worst enemy. Human beings are being left behind, tossed aside and wounded by the very people who are called to welcome them and love them.
And it is happening a lot.
There are many people who have left church because they asked ‘too many’ questions, because they were the wrong gender to teach Sunday School, or because their politics didn’t fit.
And the perception is that it is Christianity itself that is narrow, judgmental and only selectively welcoming.
But this is untrue.
How do I know this? Because Northside Drive Baptist Church is different. Northside Drive, as you well know, is a ‘deep end’ church, a big tent, a y’all come, kind of church. No question is outlawed. No theological inquiry is off limits. No one is sidelined or marginalized.
Friends, this is why we have invited Sarah McCammon to speak to us- and the community. Ours is a church where exvangelicals are welcome. Ours is a church where folks in various stages of deconstruction are embraced.
Hurt by another church? Come here and heal.
Don’t fit the theological mold? Come here and explore.
Been told you are not welcome? Come here and be known and loved.
I hope that you will join us on Sunday to hear Sarah. I hope that you will read her book. I hope that you will lend your hand to continuing the hopeful, healing ministry of Northside Drive Baptist Church.
Join us this Sunday, November 9, at 4:00 PM in our Chapel! Register at northsidedrive.org.
