Bible Study Kick-Off Fall 2026
Bible study was the final answer in my Doctor of Ministry thesis.
The question was how can churches discover ways to grow as communities of conviction. The Bible was meant to be read and studied in community. The Bible's plain sense is meant to challenge us to rethink our assumptions. It beckons us to enter what Karl Barth called the ‘strange new world within the Bible.’
I want to invite you to consider making time for Bible Study this fall. Our Wednesday Bible Study will start back on August 5. We meet at 10:30AM in the Art and Soul Room. You can also join us online through Zoom- but being there in person is a better experience.
This fall we will study the New Testament book of 2 Corinthians. This letter from the Apostle Paul to the church in Corinth is a thorny one. Paul was instrumental in starting the church, but in the years since he left, they became enamored by other Christian teachers- ones whom they considered more eloquent and erudite than Paul. And Paul’s response cuts to the heart of the Christian life: “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Cor 5:18).
