Bring on Fall!
Our Wednesday Bible Study will begin back on September 9 at 10:30 AM. We will spend the fall studying 2 Corinthians. We will meet in person in the Art and Soul room, and we will be online through Zoom. If you would like more information, call the church office at 404-237-8621.
Our Wednesday Discussion series will also begin back on September 9. We had a great year last year with our rotation of book discussion, theological article pop-up discussion, and prayer. This year we will follow the same rotation. We will gather each Wednesday at 6:00 PM- with the exception of first Wednesdays when we will gather for Holy Happy Hour from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Our book discussion will center on Mobilizing for the Common Good: The Lived Theology of John M. Perkins. I’ve shared many stories about John Perkins and his ministries- Voice of Calvary in Mendenhall, MS and the Harambee Christian Family Center in Pasadena, CA. He passed away this summer. Dr. Perkins has had a great influence on my theology and philosophy of ministry. Mobilizing for the Common Good is a collection of essays on the life and legacy of Dr. Perkins. It was published in 2013 long before he passed away. We will begin with the Foreword, Introduction, and transcript of an interview with Dr. Perkins.
Copies of these chapters will be available at church over the next several weeks.
